CA Exam Marks & Passing Calculator
Enter your expected marks paper-by-paper and instantly see whether you clear ICAI's passing criteria — 40% per paper and 50% aggregate — plus which papers earn the 60-mark exemption.
Pass = every paper ≥ 40 AND group aggregate ≥ 50% of total marks. Exemption = paper ≥ 60 while appearing in all papers of the group.
How it works
- Choose your level and group to load the right paper list.
- Enter expected or actual marks (out of 100) for each paper.
- The calculator checks the 40% per-paper floor, the 50% group aggregate, and flags papers scoring 60+ as exemption-eligible.
Where this shows up in the CA exam
Use this after every mock test. Tracking mock marks against the actual pass criteria tells you whether to push a weak paper past 40 or bank an exemption at 60+ — two very different revision strategies.

Talk to usWhat are the passing marks for CA exams?
Across Foundation, Intermediate and Final: minimum 40% in each paper and 50% in aggregate of the group (or all four papers at Foundation), in one sitting.
What is the 60-mark exemption?
At Intermediate and Final, scoring 60 or more in a paper while appearing in all papers of a group earns an exemption from that paper for the next three attempts, per current ICAI rules.
Does negative marking affect Foundation aggregates?
Yes — Papers 3 and 4 at Foundation deduct 0.25 marks per wrong answer, so your net objective-paper score feeds both the 40% floor and the 50% aggregate.
