CA Foundation 90-Day Study Plan
Ninety days is enough for CA Foundation if you run three disciplined cycles: 50 days of first study, 25 days of revision with chapter tests, and 15 days of full mocks and past papers. This plan splits every day between one theory subject and one practical subject so neither Accounting nor Law goes cold.
Who it's for: Students with about three months to the attempt who have completed Class 12 and are starting CA Foundation preparation seriously — first-timers and repeaters alike.

The schedule
Accounting + Business Laws (first pass)
Cover Accounting chapters in syllabus order alongside Business Laws. Finish each Accounting chapter with 15 practice questions the same day; close each Law chapter by writing its key sections from memory.
Quantitative Aptitude + Business Economics (first pass)
Maths, LR and Stats need daily solving — 40 questions a day minimum since both papers are objective with negative marking. Pair with Economics reading in the evening slot.
Full revision with chapter-wise tests
Revise all four subjects in parallel: two subjects per day, alternating. After each chapter, take a chapter-wise MCQ test and log your score. Anything under 60% goes on the re-revision list.
Mocks + past papers
One full paper every alternate day in the 2 PM slot, from the past-papers library. Days between mocks are for analysing mistakes and clearing the re-revision list. No new topics in this window.
A typical day
| Morning · 3 hrs | Practical subject (Accounting / Quantitative Aptitude) |
| Afternoon · 2 hrs | Theory subject (Law / Economics) |
| Evening · 1.5 hrs | MCQ practice + previous day's revision |
| Night · 30 min | Formula sheet + error log review |
Rules that keep the plan alive
- Never study the same subject in both major blocks of a day — retention drops sharply after 3 hours on one subject.
- Papers 3 and 4 carry 0.25 negative marking: accuracy drills matter more than speed drills.
- Log every wrong MCQ with its chapter. Your error log is the syllabus for the last 15 days.
- One weekly half-day off is part of the plan, not a violation of it.

Talk to usIs 90 days enough to pass CA Foundation?
Yes, for most students who can give 6–8 focused hours daily. The pass criteria are 40% per paper and 50% aggregate; a disciplined 50-25-15 day split of study, revision and mocks comfortably targets that.
Which subject should I start with?
Start with Accounting — it has the longest syllabus, daily practice compounding, and it builds confidence for the practical-heavy pattern of the exam.
How many mock tests should I take?
At least two full mocks per subject — eight in total — all in the actual 2 PM exam slot, plus chapter-wise MCQ tests throughout the revision phase.
