Work chapter by chapter: study the topic, drill its MCQs the same day, and write one descriptive answer per subject per week for evaluation. Feed the error log from day one.
The CA Prep Playbook
The method behind every Kartavvya study plan, in one page: how to split the day, why the error log beats revision, and what the last 15 days are actually for. Every principle documented. Every phase mapped to a tool.

final days spent on your errors, not the textbook
Five rules that survive contact with the syllabus.
01The error log is the real syllabus
Log every wrong MCQ and every step the evaluator flags, tagged by chapter. In the last 15 days before the exam, you don't revise the syllabus — you revise the log. It's the shortest list of exactly what would have cost you marks.
02Never two major blocks on one subject
Retention drops sharply after about three hours on a single subject. Split the day: practical subject in the morning block, theory in the afternoon, mixed practice in the evening. Contrast is what keeps recall sharp.
03Accuracy before speed where marking is negative
Objective papers with 0.25 negative marking reward the student who attempts 80 questions carefully over the one who attempts 100 fast. Drill accuracy first; speed follows accuracy, never the reverse.
04Verify on paper, not in your head
Reading a solution and nodding is not the same as producing it under pressure. Write answers by hand, then have them evaluated step by step. The transfer slips and format errors you catch now are marks saved in the hall.
05The half-day off is part of the plan
One weekly half-day off is scheduled recovery, not a violation. Plans that assume zero rest collapse in week three — and a broken streak costs more than a planned pause ever will.
Coverage → consolidation → the log.
Switch from chapters to papers: past papers under timed conditions, full-syllabus MCQ sets, and formula-sheet passes every night. Weak chapters found here go back into short coverage loops.
Revise the error log, not the textbook. Re-attempt every question you ever got wrong. Daily accuracy drills on negative-marking papers. Sleep is a study tool in this phase — protect it.

Talk to usIs this playbook really free?
Yes — this page is the playbook, open to everyone. The detailed day-wise versions for each level and attempt window are also free on the study plans pages. Kartavvya's paid features come in when you want the tools that run the method: AI solutions, photo evaluation, and custom tests.
Does the same method work for Foundation, Inter and Final?
The structure holds — coverage, consolidation, log — but the block lengths and subject pairings differ by level. Pick your level's plan on the study plans page for the day-wise version.
What if I have less than 90 days?
Compress coverage, never the log phase. A 60-day version keeps the final 15 days intact and trims chapter coverage to weightage-first order. There's a dedicated 60-day plan in the study plans library.
How does Kartavvya fit into the playbook?
Each phase maps to a tool: Study a Topic and MCQ Test carry coverage, past papers and formula sheets carry consolidation, and Verify My Solution plus the streak system carry the log phase. The playbook works on paper alone — the tools just remove the friction.
A method only works if you start it.
