The decisions around the exam, answered honestly.
Ten guides for the questions the syllabus does not cover: what the career pays, how long preparation really takes, what the pass rate means, how to plan an attempt, and what the students who clear did differently.

3 guidesGuides are for decisions. Reference lives next door.
These pages help you decide what to do — which level to plan for, how to spend the months you have, whether the qualification is the right one. When the question has a single correct answer instead — what a standard requires, what a section says, how a paper is examined — it lives in the Knowledge Base.

Talk to usWho are these guides for?
CA students at any level, and anyone still deciding whether to start. The decision guides — careers, comparisons, pass rates — matter most before and early in the course. The planning guides — study plans, syllabus, exam dates — matter every attempt. The registration, amendments and mistakes guides matter at the specific moments they describe.
How is this different from the Knowledge Base?
The Knowledge Base is reference: what a standard requires, what a section says, how a paper is examined. Guides are for decisions and planning: which level to plan for, how long it takes, what the career looks like, what to do when the law changes. If you have a question with one correct answer, it is probably in the Knowledge Base.
Are these guides official ICAI material?
No. Kartavvya is not affiliated with ICAI. These are planning and study aids. Eligibility conditions, fees, exam frequency and applicability cut-offs are set by ICAI and change between attempts, so verify anything procedural on icai.org before acting on it.
How current are the numbers?
Salary ranges, pass percentages and fee figures move, and every page that quotes one gives a range with the reason it varies rather than a single figure. Exam dates for future sessions are marked tentative until ICAI announces them. Treat all of it as a planning aid, not an authority.
Please note
These guides are study and planning aids prepared by Kartavvya, which is not affiliated with ICAI. Eligibility conditions, registration windows, fees, exam frequency and applicability cut-offs are set by ICAI and change between attempts — the New Scheme of Education and Training in particular has revised several of them. Always verify the current position on icai.org and in ICAI's announcements for your attempt before acting on anything here.
A plan is only a plan until you write an answer under a clock.
Kartavvya covers all three levels — study any topic at your level, practise the questions that repeat, and see which chapters are still costing you marks.
